Clifford W. Stevens is a principal with Neumiller & Beardslee whose practice areas focus on general business and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. While practicing in diverse areas of law, Mr. Stevens has extensive experience in matters involving trustee, financial institution, and creditor rights in bankruptcy; debt collection; and judicial and non-judicial foreclosures. He also has extensive experience with Community Associations Law where he assists both business and homeowners associations.
Being actively involved in bankruptcy issues, Mr. Stevens is certified by the American Board of Certification as a Business Bankruptcy Law Specialist. He is a member of several organizations related to this practice area including the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum, and the Central California Bankruptcy Association. He frequently presents lectures for a variety of organizations on bankruptcy related topics.
Mr. Stevens is also active in homeowner and community association law and is a member of the Bay Area-Central Valley Chapter of the Community Associations Institute. He frequently lectures on community association law topics.
In 1987, Mr. Stevens obtained his BA in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton and in 1990, earned his Juris Doctor from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was a member of Order of the Barristers. While at McGeorge, he was a staff writer from 1988-1989, and the Legislation Editor and on the Board of Editors from 1989-1990, for the Pacific Law Journal.
Mr. Stevens is active in the community and currently is a member of the Leadership Counsel for the local American Cancer Society field office and is also a regional lead volunteer for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. He also provides pro bono services for needy clients through the Voluntary Legal Services Program headquartered in Sacramento County. Mr. Stevens has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless, the Library and Literacy Foundation of San Joaquin County, and the Board of Governors of the San Joaquin County Bar Association.
Mr. Stevens was admitted to practice in California in 1990 and is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in the State of California. He is a member of the Federal Bar, the American Bar, and both the San Joaquin County and Sacramento County Bar Associations, as well as the State Bar of California.
